Summary:
This generator alternator conversion kit replaces original generator and regulator. The compact 17 amp high output alternator measures 3-1/4" long, and weighs only 3 lbs. This conversion kit has high power output, 17 amps @ 1000 rpms, billet housing for strength and accurate alignment, and a stress proof shaft which is stronger than stock. The kit includes a chrome alternator with black regulator and instructions. Kit cannot be used with mini battery (12N55A-3B). Kit can be used on 1965-1983 Xl and 1941-1969 FL models if the generator bolt holes in the engine case are drilled to 5/16" . Alternators have 5/16" x 24 mount holes for screws. Use HeliCoil kit to convert 12 volt generators with 5/16-24 thread to 1/4-24 thread to accept early mount bolt set.

Suggested to use manufacturer replacement seal PHLE #TC1835. Suggested to use with #16-0920 Thread Repair Kit.
